Come cruise aboard The Southern Star, Destin’s Original Dolphin and Sunset Cruise as seen on CNN and National Geographic Explorer, and enjoy the pristine emerald green waters of the Gulf of Mexico along the world’s most beautiful sugar-white sand beaches of Destin, Florida and experience up close viewing of dolphins, seabirds and a variety of other marine life. Our 2-hour cruises offer affordable, relaxing fun, and sightseeing for the whole family!
The Southern Star is an 80-foot is a U.S. Coast Guard approved motor vessel that comfortably accommodates up to 149 passengers. Our boat is equipped with two restrooms, a covered upper deck with a drop-down enclosure, and a climate controlled galley that features a variety of snack items and small gifts.
Our cruise begins with a narrated tour of the Destin Harbor where the captain will give you some history about the area and point out some of the local spots along the harbor. We then head out to the Gulf of Mexico through the East Pass, and if it’s calm enough, we will cruise just off the beach to find the dolphins. If the Gulf is too rough, we cruise in the Choctawhatchee Bay under the Destin Bridge where we can also find the dolphins. Once we spot the dolphins, we spend time watching them and educating our passengers on the local pod. We play island music, feed the birds, and even take time to let the children drive the boat. Reservations recommended. Come have fun with us!
