Chronic Pain and Disease Management? Medical studies report routine use of WBC reduces inflammation to alleviate chronic conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, fibromyalgia, multiple sclerosis, and ankylosing spondylosis. Inflammation is also believed to be at the center of many diseases associated with aging and disability, including heart disease, diabetes stroke, cancer, and Alzheimer’s. Use of whole-body cryotherapy on a regular basis has not been clinically proven a as a cure for any diseases; however, studies are underway regarding the effectiveness of routine cold exposure as a preventative course. Whole Body Cryotherapy can a stand-alone treatment, or in conjunction with other therapies including physical therapy, chiropractic care, or massage. Combining treatment modalities enhances effectiveness and maximizes client benefits.

Post-Surgical Recovery Surgery brings trauma to the body causing pain and inflammation. Cold therapy treatments pull inflammation from the body allowing for a faster recovery time. Different from constant ice packs that dissipates cold over the healing area, cryotherapy penetrates the healing area for exponential healing.

Athletic Performance and Recovery Cryotherapy decreases the perception of muscular fatigue and pain and induces analgesia. main factor affecting performance is oxidative stress. When intense muscle activity breaks down muscle fibers and generates oxidants into the intercellular space, membranes are damaged affecting cellular structure and DNA. Pro-inflammatory tissue chemicals form: however, these chemicals must be neutralized to begin repair. Cryotherapy enhances antioxidants to relieve accumulated metabolic inflammation and decrease soreness and swelling. Following metabolic overload, the extreme cold exposure lowers the amount of post-external pro-inflammatory tissue chemicals and induces the body to release anti-inflammatory proteins.

Athletes report a significant reduction in delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS) increased endurance levels and accelerated injury repair and recovery. Many athletes also use cryotherapy for pre-workout stimulation to enhance anti-inflammatory and antioxidant barriers to prevent chronic injuries due to overload. Weaving cryotherapy into a strength and endurance routine will provide an athlete the ability to obtain peak performance with less mandatory rest time and enjoy greater frequency and intensity to maintain stamina during competition.

Concussion ReductionAt the onset of a concussion, we urge you to visit the center and gain as much cold exposure as possible.  Whole Body Cryotherapy sessions combined with Localized Cryotherapy on the head and neck can drastically reduce the symptoms of a concussion.

Hangover and Sunburn CuresIt is simple science. When your body is sunburned, it is holding in heat. The exposure to the subzero air helps draw out the heat to soften the sunburn. Our WILD ICE Cryo-C Serum is also proven to ease the sunburn pain and stop the peeling process. For hangovers, the process brings oxygen to the brain to flush out toxins. Combine with Localized Cryotherapy directly to the head, plenty of fluids and/or IV Therapy for a quick recovery!

Mood Boost Studies show norepinephrine deficiencies are linked to variety of attention, mood, and sleep disorders. Using routine whole-body cryotherapy has shown to regain norepinephrine balance which increases mental clarity and focus. Clients report longer and more restful sleep and the ability to manage a variety of mood disorders including anxiety, depression, and PTSD. Norepinephrine also acts as a neurotransmitter to inhibit inflammatory pathways addressing inflammatory diseases and aging. Preliminary studies also show routine use of whole-body cryotherapy improves memory in older patients with cognitive impairment.

Metabolic Boost/Weight Loss In response to the rapid cold exposure of whole-body cryotherapy, the body increases its metabolic rate to produce more heat and protect the core. On average, clients burn between 400-800 calories per treatment session.  The metabolic boost also increases endorphins resulting in improved sleep and overall mood enhancement. With any method targeting weight loss, a healthy diet and regular exercise will create and maintain optimal results. Add vibration therapy or cardiovascular exercise immediately after a whole-body cryotherapy session for additional calorie burn.

Anti-Aging Skincare Whole body cryotherapy is used to detox and rejuvenate the skin by stimulating collagen. While your skin is made up of many layers, the dermal (middle) layer contains an intricate collagen matrix. As your skin ages, collagen production slows and the matrix becomes less firm and resilient, resulting in a loss of elasticity and thin skin vulnerable to environmental damage. Fatty deposits also build up over time resulting in unsightly cellulite. Exposure to the cold increases blood flow and stimulates collagen production in the deeper layers of the skin. Oxygenation of the dermal cells reduces pore size and leaves skin tighter and smoother with increased elasticity. Clients report improved skin tone, brighter complexion, and a noticeable reduction in the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Cooling the skin also improves antioxidant levels which has been claimed to reduce acne and dry skin conditions such as psoriasis, eczema, and Rosacea.
